The Process
Step 1: Document Preparation
We build the file: remote-work declaration, foreign contract, bank or income evidence, passport, criminal record, civil record, and Brazilian health insurance.
Step 2: Application Submission
We complete the official e-consular form and lodge the originals at the competent Brazilian consulate. If you are already in Brazil, we file the residence authorization with the Justice Ministry.
Step 3: Visa Approval
Once approved, you receive VITEM XIV with up to one year of residence. You can travel to Brazil and start the stay.
Step 4: Federal Police Registration
After arrival, you register with the Federal Police within 90 days and receive your foreigner ID (CRNM). We schedule and coordinate the appointment.

Valid passport with at least two blank pages.
Remote-work declaration confirming you can do the work online.
Foreign work or service contract with your employer or clients abroad.
Proof of means: US$1,500 per month from a foreign source, or US$18,000 in bank funds.
Health insurance valid in Brazil.
Criminal record from your country of origin or residence, apostilled.
Birth certificate or civil extract showing your parents' names, apostilled.
Passport photo to Brazilian consular specifications.

Important Notes
Foreign income only. You keep working for employers and clients outside Brazil.
One year, then renew. The first authorization is up to one year. A further year can be requested at the Federal Police in Brazil.
Tax. If you spend more than 183 days in a 12-month period, you may become a Brazilian tax resident. We can introduce a tax advisor if you want that reviewed.
Short tourist stays are different. Many nationalities can enter visa-free for up to 90 days. VITEM XIV is the route for a full year as a digital nomad.
