Why Panama?
Permanent residence on a lifetime pension. Panama's Jubilado Pensionado permit is for foreigners who will live in the country on a lifetime pension of at least B/.1,000 per month (or the equivalent in foreign currency) from a foreign government, an international organization, or a private company. Indefinite status. Migracion states this permit is indefinite and does not require an extension.
A dollar economy. Pensions paid in dollars are spent in dollars. No local-currency conversion on daily life.
Lower threshold if you own property. If you have bought Panamanian real estate in your own name for more than B/.100,000, the pension floor drops to B/.750 per month. Official exception on the same Migracion checklist.
Spouse and dependents. Spouses may combine both pensions to reach the B/.1,000 minimum. Each dependent needs an extra B/.250 per month, shown as additional pension or a local bank reference.
Who This Is For
Retirees with a lifetime government, social-security, military, or private-company pension of at least US$1,000 per month.
Couples who can add both pensions together to clear B/.1,000.
Property owners in Panama whose title is over B/.100,000 and whose lifetime pension is at least B/.750.
People bringing a spouse or children who can show the extra B/.250 per dependent.
Not for: applicants whose income is only salary, dividends, or a pension that is not certified as lifetime.
The Process
Step 1: Document Preparation
We collect the lifetime-pension certificate, passport, apostilled criminal record, health certificate, and the sworn personal-background form. Private-company pensions also need the administrator letter, proof the paying company exists, and payment or bank evidence. Migracion's official list.
Step 2: Application Submission
Our Panama attorneys file the Jubilado Pensionado application at Servicio Nacional de Migracion with a notarized power of attorney. The power of attorney must name your parents and their nationalities.
Step 3: Approval
On approval you receive the indefinite pensionado residence permit. No annual extension of the permit itself.
Step 4: E-Cedula
We take you through issuance of the permanent-resident identity card so you can open accounts and use local services.
Requirements
From Servicio Nacional de Migracion, requisitos para Jubilado Pensionado (PRP-JP):
Lifetime pension certificate of at least B/.1,000 per month (or foreign-currency equivalent) from a foreign government, international organization, or private company.
Or B/.750 per month if you own Panamanian real estate in your name for more than B/.100,000, with the Public Registry certificate.
Notarized power of attorney and application stating your parents' names and nationalities.
Passport copy, notarized or authenticated, plus three photos.
Criminal record and health certificate.
Sworn personal-background form.
Each dependent: extra B/.250 per month via additional pension or a local bank reference.
Private-company pensions also need: a letter from the foreign pension administrator, trustee, mutual fund, insurer, or bank that manages the funds; proof the paying company exists and is in good standing; and a payment stub or bank statement.
Spouse: apostilled marriage certificate. Both pensions may be added to reach B/.1,000.

Important Notes
The pension must be lifetime. Migracion's article 200 requires a vitalicia pension, not a term annuity or salary.
Private pensions need extra paper. Administrator letter, company existence, and payment proof. A simple HR letter is not enough.
Dependent children receive a temporary permit until age 25 if they prove full-time study. They do not receive pensionado status, except in cases of proven profound disability. Official exception list.
This is residence, not citizenship. Naturalization is a later, separate application.
Law 6 / Law 9 of 1987 sets consumer discounts for qualifying pensionados once you hold the proper ID. Businesses in Panama are expected to honor the published schedule. We help you get the immigration status. The discount card is used at the counter.
