Why Uruguay?
Permanent residency from day one: Unlike most countries, Uruguay grants permanent residency directly. No years of temporary status or renewals required.
Low income threshold: Qualify with approximately $2,000 USD per month in passive income for a single applicant, or $3,000 for a couple.
Fast path to citizenship: Apply for citizenship after 3 years if you have family in Uruguay, or 5 years if single. Uruguay allows dual citizenship.
Tax advantages: Under Tax Holiday 2.0 (effective January 2026), new tax residents can enjoy up to 10 years of exemption on foreign capital income.
Easy to maintain: Keep your residency as long as you do not stay outside Uruguay for more than 3 consecutive years.
Strong passport: The Uruguayan passport provides visa-free access to over 150 destinations.

The Process
Step 1: Initial Consultation and Document Collection
We review your situation, confirm your income qualifies, and provide a complete list of required documents. You gather the documents; we handle everything else.
Step 2: Document Preparation and Legalization
We coordinate apostilles, translations, and the notarial income certification (certificacion de ingresos) required by a Uruguayan escribano.
Step 3: Application Submission
You enter Uruguay and we submit your application through the DNM system. We handle all biometrics appointments and government communications.
Step 4: Temporary Cédula and Processing
You receive your temporary cédula (Uruguayan ID) while your application is processed. You can live legally in Uruguay during this time.
Step 5: Permanent Residency Approved
Once approved, you receive your permanent cédula. You are now a legal permanent resident of Uruguay.
